So far, guarantees of the securing validity of containers in large container ships have always been carried out by the support of a few samples of securing plans in Cargo Securing Manual as well as by crew's experience. But this is far from adapting for variational conditions such as variations of container weight, layers, and variations of ship loading conditions. Many accidents resulted in container damage/loss are derived from wrong container securing methods and estimate lapsus. Obviously, solving such problems is the prerequisite of programming a software system for checking container securing. This dissertation puts forward a common expression of tensile forces on lashing bars and bridge fittings according to the demand of 'Checking System for Securing Containers on Deck of Seagoing Vessels', which is one of the research items in the charge of author's director. No organization or authority has offered such expressions or formulae for calculating tensile forces on lashing bars, which would be applicable to different situations of container securing. And none of them has offered expressions or formulae of calculating the tension forces on bridge fittings, either. Such expressions or formulae are quite important to determine whether a securing method is efficient or not. And they are the theoretical bases of programming software for 'Checking System for Securing Containers on Deck of Seagoing Vessels'.For one thing, models of calculating tension of lashing bars together with rules and regulations of China Classification Society, American Bureau of Shipping and Lloyd's Register in UK provide the foundation for the author to get together several calculating formulae on tensile forces of some specific container securing methods.Secondly, the author analyzed the transversal distortion of container layers and the tension forces on them in different securing ways. Then the author offered a common formula for calculating tensile force of lashing bar, which fits for different situations of containersecuring by using a control matrix. The matrix determines which rows of the coefficient matrix are all zeros. By using multiplication of control matrix and coefficient matrix, a common formula is offered.Thirdly, the author analyzed the differences of tensile forces of lashing bars after setting up a certain bridge fittings. And an expression was offered by using analogy matrix and control method. Finally, some validating samples are supplied for reader's checking.
