| This dissertation conducts a study on the issues relating to application of Open Source Software (OSS) to business vessels.The development of level of Ship's IT system is playing a crucial role in developing a company's fleet management. Being the reasons of ships' internal environment, lack of supporting from the land and poor computer operation of crew, it is important to ensure the high reliability of the computer application system. Featuredby Linux, the OSS has the characters of stable , open, customized, which makes its costs of copyright and technology service are much more lower than the common commercial software. This article firstly proposes the technology plan of'Linux +Apache + Postgre SQL"by using the software technology based on J2EE.This paper analyzes the technique characters and application prospects of the OSS based on the requirement of ship's IT system, and searchs for the relevant application plans as well. By means of parallel analysis and strict tests of the system, it fixes on the technology structure/propose detailed plans, solves several difficulties such as off-line copy between open source database and business database, high usability of the system, over-platform character, etc. The paper proves the feasibility, usability and reliability of the system by the results of the tests and practical usage respectively. After smooth practical application in more than 100 ships' of China Shipping Group, this system has achieved its goals to be broadly deployed at lower costs, which has been important in improving the ships' management of the Group. Yet, we will promote the consummation after unceasingly effort and improvement, to meet the shipping company's increasing need. The technology plans recommended by this paper also have the promotion valuesin other industries. |
