| The current road design method is difficult to meet the scientific and rational need in fact. Geographic Information System (GIS)-based auxiliary design system of highway can meet the need of modern road construction, of high quality and rapidity. This system can promote management and service of road.According to the actual conditions, the digital elevation model (DEM) is introduced into highway design. The management of highway design data is discussed in this paper. An improved Delaney triangulation algorithm is developed. A linear referencing system is set up, in which geometric feature of the road curve is taken into account. Therefore, some key problems are solved in developing the GIS-based highway design system. With the system, the DEM of given area is built, being used in related highway auxiliary design. The groundwork of the paper is divided into the following several parts:1. Chapter 1 Introduction. With the background and the development of GIS-based highway auxiliary design, the investigative problem is introduced, mainly-studied contents listed.2. Chapter 2 GIS-based Highway Auxiliary Design. The course of road design being reviewed, the road CAD method and the GIS-based road design system are discussed.3. Chapter 3 Key Technics in GIS-based Highway Auxiliary Design System. The production of DEM and the management of road data being analyzed, an improved TIN algorithm is advanced, a linear referencing system presented, geometric feature of the road curve being taken into account. The application of component in constructing road auxiliary design system is investigated.4. Chapter 4 Design of GIS-based Highway Auxiliary Design System. According to the need of highway auxiliary design system for given area, the main aims of the system are put forward, the frame and main functions of the system being presented.5. Chapter 5 Implementation and Application of the System. Some main characters of GIS-based highway design system being introduced, some key functions of the system are implemented, the system is applied in practice.6. Chapter 6 Conclusions and Prospect. Some conclusions are drawn from the studies, some key points for later study being advanced.Along with the use of highway design method, computer science and GIS in highway auxiliary design system, this system will be more and more riper. |
