Frame-shear wall structure has been widely used in the high rise all over the world due to its good ability to resist the seismic load ,especially in our country.In this paper, the frame-shear wall system, a widely used structure type, is studied. Optimal design for the reasonable stiffness of shearing walls is done.In order to calculate the objective function and the constraint conditions in the optimal methods, frame-shear wall structure should be analyzed. The thought of the variable stiffness is cited in the analysis of fame-shear wall structure, and story arrangement method is used. Formulae for inner forces and displacements of frame-shear wall structure with variable lateral rigidity along height , which is under different load ,are deduced. The computation method for earthquake-excited frame-shear wall structures is presented. And the influences of three modes are discussed in this paper.In the shearing walls' stiffness optimization, more suitable design for the optimal method is developed. At the same time how to proof this optimization in a rational area is provided.On the basis of this paper's methods for analysis and optimization, a frame shear wall structure analysis and optimum MATLAB software are developed.The software can be used to make the original optimal design for the frame shear wall structure and to determine the force and displacement of the structure. An optimal stiffness of the shear wall for engineering design can also be directly recommended .
