With economic development and living standards being constant to raise, people require the power supply quality and reliability higher and higher. It is impossible to observe the dynamic action of system on the power system, with the flying development of computer technology and communication technology and especial establishment of wide area power information net and appearance of GPS whole net synchronization technology. On the basis of them, people can more research power system linearity state estimation, static stabilization monitoring, transient stabilization predicting and control, fault analysis, self adapting loss of synchronism protection and the anti-catastrophe strategy of complex big electric net. So how to construct wide are electric net real-time monitoring system receives much concern.At first, this paper analyzes system configuration, communication mode and function module. Then this paper introduces in particular the function and hardware circuit of synchronism phasor measurement unit that is measure platform of wide are electric net real-time monitoring system. This paper put forward a method that combines the GPS and the phase locked loop. At last the dissertation is concluded with the author's expectation to the foreground of the wide area electric net real-time monitoring system.
