The electric power system is a very complicated non-linear network system. Because of the influence that it involves a lot of equipments which are distributed in various places and the processes such as producing, transportation, distributing, and consuming of power energy, changes dynamically, the information management is a inevitable trend to the running, management, control of electric power. Lately along with the power network explansion, the improving of safe running criterion and the software-and-hardware development, power network information is augmenting rapidly. It pops out the relative lagging and localization that the present information management softwares on electric power system deal with lots of information. " How to solve it" becomes one of important problems during the information management process.This paper researches this problem. In virtue of visualization lately, it expatiates that the visualization treats with power system running datas intuitively. At the same time based on Geographical Information System, Digital Terrain Models and Visualization in Scientific Computing, this paper compines data organizing structure, space object management and analyzing ability of GIS, including data processing and hermeneutic function of ViSC, it brings forth to a recent approach about resolving the illogicality between a great deal of power network information and no ways to explain these information. This approach lightens the burden of operated personnel when they are taking charge of monitoring and controlling electric power system. The method, which realizes scientific management and compositive analysis, brings a bran-new way and pattern.This paper, at first, introduces applicable actuality and scarcity about the present information management of power network, and analyses researchful direction of power network information visualization. Secondly it presents the ViSC's scientific notion or meaning, and brings forward the visualization common process and researchful content.thirdly the text discusses the Digital Terrain Models that is one of basic data models about how to construct the visualization. At last conjointing the contour's visualizated technology and the creation of the triangulatued irregular network, the papaer presents the implemental method of voltage's contour visualization in electric power system, which based on the triangulatued irregular network, and emphasizes the non-uniform rational B-spline. This experiment, which is made on 38 nodes system in Zhejiang power network, proves that the contour visualization creates a fire-new graphics conception for the running, controlling amd management in electric power network.
