This paper comes from naval research item. It focuses on Bearing-only method of submarine, and have important theory and utility meaning in constructing and developing naval equipment. The main results are as follow.1) Classical Bearing-only method in TMA is researched. We analyse two basic methods Nth-order Bearing and Bearing Smooth and give clew to solve these problems. Finally, the simulation result and comment are presented.2) Smooth method in TMA is researched. We analyse three basic methods including distance smooth, speed smooth, two distance two bearing. Then we summarize the essence of smooth method and give basic way to solve these problems. Finally, we provide simulation results.3) We present Segment Filter method first time. It has important theory meaning in TMA researching.4) Theory definition, simulation results and evaluation of Segment Filter method are provided. Calculation precision and speed are enhanced greatly compared with Nth-order and Bearing Smooth. The method can meet requirement of application.5) Using VC++, we developed TMA system software which based on Windows. This system has important application value in TMA researching.
