Modulation domain analysis technology is a new testing technology emerged at the end of 20th century. It is applied in lots of domains and become more and more important especially in the field of military electronics test. This dissertation is based on the hardware design of modulation domain analysis module in the project "Synthesized Communication Testing Instrument"undertaken by China Electronic Technology Group Corporation No. 50th Academe. It introduces the basic theory of modulation domain analysis module and the module's hardware architecture. The design of the zero dead time (ZDT) counter and the error compensation is discussed in detail. The first chapter introduces the background of this project. This chapter also describes the wide application and current situation of modulation domain analysis technology. Chapter 2 discribes the modulation domain analysis module's hardware architecture design curtly and discusses the traditional method and new method in this project of ZDT counter and the interpolating circuit. Chapter 3 expatiates the design of ZDT counter and the logic control circuit, through which continuous count with one set of counter is realized implemented in FPGA. Chapter 4 describes the theory of interpolating circuit that uses analog circuit to turn error pulses to voltage. The design of interpolating circuit and devices selection is introduced in this section too. Chapter 5 introduces the A/D converting circuit, the data storage circuit. The data processing of the AD converter is alse discussed in this chapter. Chapter 6 introduces the design and debugging of high speed PCB, the configuration and the debugging of FPGA. The last chapter is the conclusion. It summarizes the performance and the lack of the design of modulation domain analysis module and makes expectation with its development.
