More and more trains have been equipped with GPS (Globe Position System) supervision and navigation system with the development of GPS technology. As a new technology, GPS has remarkable advantage of high precision, great speed and low cost. It has a great potential and market in system position, monitor and dispatch of the train. In this paper, understanding the development history and trend of Railway Intelligent Transportation System(RITS)all over the world, analyzing the feasibilities of the train's Headlight Auto-seeking GPS system and lastly presenting a GPS control system at embedded platform, which implements train's headlight auto-turn based on rail curvature and train velocity. This system is ahead in most important aspects of our nation owing to adopt embedded MCU, ARM, and embedded OS, UCOS-Ⅱand bring forward a new resolvent on our national trains through implementing GPS and GPRS which are front line science. However utilizing GPS to implement the train's Headlight Auto-seeking system is the first resolvent all over the world. Moreover,this system lies on four key technologies during we designed. And they are expatiated in each chapter as follows. (1) Design of embedded system hardware platform in chapter 3. It introduces how to design embedded system hardware circuit based on AT91R40008 of ARM microprocessor. (2) Design of embedded OS software in chapter 4. Embedded operating system UCOS-Ⅱis introduces briefly and it is mainly implemented to transplant UCOS-Ⅱon AT91R40008. (3) Position of train control system in chapter 5. The technology of GPS position is researched by the numbers. In the mean time the process that ARM MCU receives GPS data by RS-232 interface is expatiated. (4) Wireless communications of train control system in chapter 6. First of all, handware design of GPRS is introduced. And then the process of implementing wireless communications is discussed through analyzing GPRS elements and PPP.
