For the Highway Weigh-in-Motion system, the weighing accuracy and the speed of the vehicle moving are the most important. The weighing signal processing in the actual Weigh-in-Motion is simple digital filter and there is no further signal processing technique. So the WIM system needs a relatively wide board for axle-load of vehicle and lower the speed of vehicle moving in order to have enough time to get steady weighing signal which is used to calculate the Gross-Vehicle weight. Under the condition of the accuracy of WIM system, in order to reduce the size of WIM systems' structure and increase the speed of the vehicle, some research on Highway WIM system is finished and solution is present in this dissertation.Firstly, because the weighing signal is unbalanced, wavelet is the best method to process it. Based on the Wavelet Multi-resolution Analysis, the weighing signal is decomposed into different frequency domain to get the actual signal.Secondly, DSP is the control center of the system. The chapter 3 introduces the architecture of TMS320VC33 and completes the interface circuits among DSP Memory, PCI bus and AD conversion.Finally, the design makes use of PCI bus to interface with PC. PCI bus with high transfer rate supports Plug and Play and hot plug-in .The problem of slow transfer is resolved. The development of device driver is discussed in detail.
