The technology of electronic control on engines is used to achieve good fuel economy, driveability, as well as emission reduction. However, a lot of calibration experiments must be done before the application of an electronic control system. As the content of electronic control has been expanded and the accuracy of it has been improved, a new development environment is needed to meet the requirement of electronic control development.Based on studies of the development environment of electronic control engines, the author put forward a C AN-based development environment of electronic control engine, with emphasis on the hardware and software design of CAN nodes and the communication of the system. The system uses the PC as the control and calibration center. Through the RS232-CAN adapt card, PC communicates with the CAN nodes of engine electronic control unit, CAN nodes of the dynamometer system, oil measure CAN node, exhaust measure CAN node and other extendable nodes on CAN bus. Each CAN node is made up of ICs, which mainly include AT89C52, SJA100, PCA82C250, 6N137, and I/O circuits according to the function of that node.RS232-CAN adapt card communicates with PC through the serial communication port and communicates with other CAN nodes through CAN bus. The field CAN nodes communicate with other nodes through CAN bus and realize their specified function with the help of microcontroller, data acquisition and control circuits.Simulation tests indicate the successful communication among PC, RS232-CAN adapt card and other CAN nodes. The engine bed building experiments indicate some data acquisition and control circuits achieve expected function.
