In this paper, finite element analysis is conducted on the main beam of the JQ120 bridge-craft with ANSYS finite element analysis software as tool. By using the FEA, its structure strength, stiffness and stability under typical situations are calculated by computer stimulation. And the results provide the theoretic bases for the design and optimization of the main beam. Subsequently, the transient dynamic analysis of the main beam under the action of eccentric pulse load is performed, and the dynamic load coefficient can be drawn from the analysis for structure design of the bridge-craft. Finally, the contact stress distribution of roller and the factors that affect the contact stress are analyzed. In order to reduce the existing sharp edge stress of the contact stress, it is proposed to adopt hollow rollers during the design of roller. Afterwards, the equivalent stress and contact stress of hollow roller under the enduring load are studied by means of the FEA. The analytic results show that, if the hollowness is controlled properly, the hollow roller will be preferable to corresponding solid roller.
