Water heater is one of the main equipments for vehicle heating in winter. With the number of gas-fueled vehicle increasing in our country, it is necessary to develop clean fuel heater for matching. This paper developed an intelligent controller for this water CNG heater, which uses the single-chip microcomputer as hard core. By referring to the domestic and foreign research about the water heater, the design scheme of the control system is given.Facing the fact that it is hard to build exact mathematic model about the control of vehicle heating, and the characteristic of control object is complex, so we put forward a fuzzy control method to the temperature control of passenger compartment. It is demonstrated by digital simulation that the method makes the extra-regulation more small, the regulation time more short, and the robustness better for the temperature control plant. Therefore, fuzzy control is effective for the control object.At last, we completed the design of the soft and hardware, then made physical experimentation. The test results indicate that the control system is safe and steady. The water CNG heater with this controller will be a suit of automatic heating system with thermostat, which is applicable especially to gas-fueled vehicle.
