This paper studies the igniting characteristic of forty-one kinds of power coal samples by drop-tube furnace and analyzes the process of pulverized-coal igniting and experimental data. An igniting index 8 is proposed using coal quality analysis data (industrial analysis data).The igniting index 5 simplified state judgment of combustion and made the judgment of igniting characteristic of power coal become easy and nicety. According to characteristics of malfunction diagnose and state judgment of combustion, this paper brought forward a comprehensive model of combustion safety diagnose, this model include two parts: malfunction diagnose model and state judgment of combustion model. According to different characteristics of malfunction diagnose and state judgment of combustion this model adopted different methods.this model adopted different methods of diagnosis and judgment. The malfunction diagnose part used rule-based system and search-suited inference mechanism; The state judgment of combustion part use fuzzy mathematics theory built up fuzzy comprehensive judgment model, this model took coal qualities and operation factors into account, made the judgments become more all sided and accuracy. The brought forward of comprehensive model of combustion safety diagnose made basement of exploit and utility of combustion safety diagnose expert system.
