| Combined with the 10th five-year research project of national defense "Study on the General Conception of Future Small Arms with New Firing Technology", the new firing technology is studied deeply in this paper. The concept models of new ammunition and firing control system are established. Instead of mechanical firing device, the frequency modulation electric-firing system is designed which may improve the firing frequency and shooting probability of the new small arms. The cassette of firing control circuit is made and that is proved correct through the electric firing test. The interior ballistics process of the new small arms is analyzed in detail and the corresponding mathematical models are proposed also. The software for calculation of the interior ballistics of the new small arms is also completed. With the software, the effects of the alterations such as firing frequency, initial pressures, propellant weight and chamber volume upon the performances of initial ballistics are obtained by numerical computation. The calculation of the interior ballistics has available reference to firing time interval and new cartridge design. Finally the powder construction of new cartridge is optimized so that stability of interior ballistic is improved. |
