| PAMS-I ( Pneumatics Automation Manufacturing System-I ) is an international cooperative project that develops automated pneumatic control system. This system is made up of several subsystems including processing, assembling, packing, labeling and end-product accessing. It is mainly used to study and checkout a new type of integrative system and control technique that include mechanism, electronics and pneumatics. To meet the requirement of research, an integrated control system must be realized on the foundation that each subsystem can work independently, and an automated material handling system must be equipped for PAMS-I, to realize the automated material conveyance, loading and unloading in the whole flow from processing to end-product accessing.Research in these aspects is introduced in this paper. In this dissertation the main technical difficulties and some key techniques concerned with are discussed. The major aspects are as following: (1) According to the demand of the system's work task and the restriction of its work environment, a pneumatic joint manipulator that has wide working space, multifunction and high accuracy is designed. (2) A distributed computer control system is constructed to monitor the state of 4 s ubsystems and the material handling system, a nd c oordinate the p roduction plan o f PAMS-I. It improves t he efficiency o f PAMS-I. (3) The valve terminal technique has been adopted to reduce the cost of the system and enhance the reliability of system. (4) The techniques studied in this paper have been utilized synthetically and verified, the system integration of PAMS-I is actually fulfilled and performs well. The techniques and methods studied in this paper can be referenced by enterprises to develop pneumatics automation manufacturing system. |
