with the development of electric power system,it is nessary,to have highreliability excitation equipment satisfing the stability of power system and synmesizedautomation. Programable Control Computer have the characters such as highreliability,good capility and it is greatly applied in power system. The excitatiOn equipment which is decribed in mis paper uses Programable Controller S7-200 as a main role and controle core.It has good capility such as simplestmcture,high reliability,At first,the paper discusses the trend of the development of excitaition equipment, and then describs me character and functiOn of programmable controller,secondly,the paper analyzes me constitution Of hardware and its software design,at last,the paper describes the result of the experiment The phase-shifted pan of the excitation equipmem applies IC chip TC787 and sucessfully make it break away from the microcomputre,which increases the reliability of the excitation equipment more.AbOut the frequency measurement,it makes good use of the functionof high speed impulse output and high speed count of S7-200,which achieve the frequency measurement sucessfully. About the part of fault,the paper give the solution memod of PT breaking and pulse loss.Because the design of the software uses module strucnlre it is easy to debug,repaire and extend.this part of the paper firstly discusses the integral disconnection PID algorithm according to the stmcture and demands of computer cOntrol system,and then describes the realization of its fuction modules. The ideas proposed in this paper haVe been almost been successfully realized in the experiment.The experimental result indicates me excitation experiment has fine capability.
