The history situation of Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition(SCADA) system's research and development are reviewed at first in this paper, and the shortages, improved measurements and direction of development hereafter are indicated. In this paper, the compositions , functions, actions and build of the urban water supply SCADA system are elaborated in full.It is important to collect data accurately from water supply system for SCADA system attemper correctly, which not only relate whether water supply system's running states are real-time known and monitored by SCADA, but also affect a certain extent the capitalize cost and running reliability and validity of SCADA system. Therefore, optimized laying of monitoring stations in urban water supply SCADA system is an emphases in this paper, including optimized locating monitoring stations of water pressure, flow rate and water quality.In the aspect of optimized locating of water pressure monitoring stations in the water supply networks, two ways of laying measuring stations are holdup, one is based on reflecting the change of water pressure in the nodes of networks and the other based on reflecting the size distribution of water pressure in the nodes of networks zones.In the aspect of optimized location of water quality monitoring points in the water supply networks, three ways connected each other are holdup which can monitor simultaneity water quality indexes of residual chlorine, turbidity, chromaticity, temperature and PH in the networks. The first way is based on the index of node flow coverage, and the second one is based on the current age of nodes, while the last one is based on the valid monitoring area.In the aspect of optimized locating of flow rate monitoring stations in the water supply networks, two ways of laying measuring points are also holdup, one is based on the flow change sensitivity of networks nodes, while the other is based on the effective monitoring field.The all ways of monitoring stations optimized laying are proved its rationality and practicality through an example, which have guiding significance in the practice.
