This paper introduces a low-power non-magnetic heat meter that measures heat consumption of user in heating period. This heat meter mainly consists of flow sensor, temperature sensors and MCU.The problem of energy waste as result of urban central heating and unreasonable charge according to the areas is outstanding day by day. This problem has already restricted the further development of urban central heating. The heat meter is crucial equipment which implements system reform of urban heat supply and charges according to heat. It measures and charges on the basis of the user consumption heat actual. The administration adopt heat meter to measure heat that not only facilitates the users, but easy to manage. The purpose of researching the subject to offer users a kind of intelligence instrument that can accurately measure heat consumption and solve the difficult of charging. The heat meter that this paper introduced adopts LC oscillator as the flow sensor, Pt1000 as temperature sensor. The signal of flow and temperature is separately magnified and compared to send MCU. The MCU adopts MSP430F135, it is used for measuring data, calculating flow and heat and judging various kinds of troubles. The important data are stored in EEPROM-93C46 to avoid losing. All information may be displayed on LCD. Besides, we analyse and discuss the consumption, and also give out the plan of software and hardware design. The heat meter that we designed has many virtues, such as low-power, high accuracy, easy to operate, strong commonability and reliable performance. This heat meter reaches second standard in the country and it can offer the accurate heat consumption information for the users and administrative department.
