Large-scale Commercial Construction Projects Traffic Impact Analysis Study

On the basis of identification of the category of Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA) for large commercial developments, this paper firstly analyses the basic essence of TIA and gives a systematic introduction of the content and method of TIA for large commercial developments. By focusing on commercial land use, this paper discusses the interactive mechanism of urban traffic and commercial land use and also gives a short cut to forecast the traffic demand induced by commercial land use. Then puts forward a practical method to identify the study area boundary of large commercial developments by taking commercial location into consideration. Besides, this paper establishes an evaluation system to evaluate the extent of traffic impact caused by the extra traffic demand attracted by large commercial developments, and then proposes some feasible mitigation measures and a series of suggestions to ensure the execution of TIA in China. At last, the methods mentioned above are put into practice.
