Four-stroke Motorcycle Engine Work Process Testing And Performance Evaluation System

More and more Chinese motorcycle manufacturers have begun to pay great attention to product development independently, especially the development of motor-engine. It's more suitable for Chinese motorcycle manufacturers to make appropriate improvements aiming at the defect of existing engines than to research and develop a full new type. While it must base on complete understanding of the performance of existing engines to make appropriate improvements. So a 4-stroke motor-engine working process monitoring and performance evaluation system is developed with relevant manufacturer's entrust.The system has following functions: showing indicator diagram, the mean value of maximum pressure, maximum pressure raise rate and rotating speed, the distribution of maximum pressure, maximum pressure raise rate and ignition advance angles, the speed fluctuation in cycle, speed fluctuation between cycle and ignition advance angles.The system obviously features measuring ignition advance angles and engine working process at same time. While the effect of ignition advance angles on working process could not be reflected directly for lots of types of motor-engine ever before.This paper reports the implementation of software and hardware of the system. With the measurement results of the system, the analysis conclusion of speed fluctuation is particularly applied to the selection of control policy for ignition timing of motorcycle electronic controlled igniting system. As a conclusion, the paper points out finally that different policy should be applied according to different rotating speed.The character of fuel supply of motorcycle carburetor is studied with the emission analyzer in this paper. The direction and steps to improve the character of fuel supply of motorcycle carburetor are also given.
