During the course of developing and using high ballistic performance artillery with high exit velocity, high chamber pressure and high loading density, there were many accidents of breech blow. By researched and analyzed, it was found that grain fracture had close relation with charge design safety of guns. Grain fracture can lead to pressure abnormity in chamber. Particularly in the condition of low temperature, it was the main cause leading to chamber blow. The dissertation links with charge design safety of guns and constitutes the theory model of relation between grain fracture and interior ballistic performance. The program which resembles the influence of grain fracture to interior ballistic performance is compiled. The relation between grain fracture and exceptional pressure in chamber is analyzed, and an elementary analysis to the principle of chamber blow is made.
