Structure optimization design is widely used in structure design. It can improve the design quality and speed up the design process and shorten the design cycle. The optimization efficiency is dependent largely on the calculating efficiency and precision of sensitivity analysis. Sensitivity analysis is an indispensable part of optimization design.Beginning with the development, features and process of structure optimization design, the first part of the article emphasizes on the transferring of engineering problems to mathematical problems.Then based on the Gradient Projection Method, the gradient projection direction is deduced. The gradient direction is the base for sensitivity analysis.Afterwards, sensitivity analysis formula are given and those problems arising from the application of the method to practice are pointed out.Finally the paper introduces the programming implementation of the proposed method and mix-language programming techniques. Numerical examples are used to prove the proposed sensitivity analysis method.Sensitivity analysis techniques have become an important part of optimization design. With the development of optimization design, sensitivity analysis will play a more important role.
