The problem about the stability of coast concerns with many fields Of engineering,such as architecture project,irrigation works proiect and the road and bridge project. The coast of rock and soil is a kind of natural geological disaster, the stability of which is influenced by many kinds of uncertainly factors, it not only destroys the side slope but also destroys the architectures and buildings which stand at the foot of the slope, and brings dangerous to the people's life and belongs. So the question about stability of coast is always an important content in the field of rock and soil engineering.This article expands generally the stability of coast through stress and Emerhency theory which is applied in the heological engineering, and analysis the basic characters of different kinds of the coast, introduces the theory and way which analysis the stability of the coast.Accoeding to the coast of ZhangQin Road, this article discusses the road entrenchment coast in particular, and anaiysis the characters* data of soil and rock. It also answers how to determine all the data of the coast and evaluates the stability of the coast. On the base of the data,itgices some useful design plans to reinforce the coast.Then it generally analysis and evaluates the construction measures of the coast .At last this article analysis the sensitivity of different kinds of rock and soil,and researches the theory of physical destroy of the road entrenchment coast.The method which is given in the article is useful to the similar coast.
