Foreign countries have researhed on active suspension technique for many years.This work was just stated in China. The thesis studied systematically on activesuspension technique, and utilized it in railway vehicle to improve vibrationcharacters of locomotive and car The thesis constructed model of SS8 locomotive andmade dynamic analysis using ADAMS/RAIL. In order to value the reiability of themodel and the analysis, I attended the test of measuring the lateral vibration charactersof SS8 locomotive. The comparison bforeen the results of the analysis and the testproved that the model and the analysis were accord with the actual shaation. In theresearch of full edive suspension, the thesis constructed the dynamic equations ofthe simplified model and deduced the state equations, then propoed withMATLAB language and computed the feedback gains using LQR method. The thesisconstructed the fuIl-ative-suspension model by combining MATLAB andADAMS/RAIL. From the analysis, the thesis drew the conclusion that the full aotivesuspension system could improv the lateral vibraton characters of locomotive andcar effectively. Additionally the thesis studied semi-active suspension system. Theanalysis indicated that the semi-active suspension system could improve the lateravibfation characters of locoodive and car effeCtively as well, bu its affecton was notas good as full aCtive suspension system.
