Solid clay brick still prevails in the load-bearing wall materials in china. It has thousands of years'history as conventional wall material in china. With the social progress, Using solid clay brick to build houses have wasted much clay resource and haven't already met the requirement of energy-saving building. Therefore, the government proclaims solid clay bricks will be prohibited to use in designated time. According to the characteristic of local economic circumstances, It is imperative to develop new-type wall materials. These industry structures are mainly energy, aluminum and heavy chemical engineering in Jiaozuo. With the development of these industries, they make significant contributions to Jiaozuo's economic development, but produce much industrial wastes at the same time.We link the characters of these solid wastes with the requirements for the future environmental protection, manufacture non-fired and non-steamed bricks by red mud. The study not only broaden the range of wall material, adding new economic points, but also can utilize wastes and reduce environmental pressure. Apparent environmental, social and economical benefits can be gotten.We use A and B groups of orthogonal experiments to get non-fired and non-steamed bricks'proportion. Using compressive strength as the main test index, we get the optimum proportion of red mud, fly ash and carbide slag by A group. Knowing fly ash and carbide slag's stimulating effect to red mud by orthogonal interaction. We use B group orthogonal experiment to get the optimum water, modeling pressure, gypsum and cement's adding amounts on the base of A group. The best proportion is as follows:red mud 39%, fly ash 20%, carbide slag 15%, sand 20%, phosphogypsum 4%, cement 2.5%, superplasticizer 0.01%, shaping pressure 20 MPa. Finally, we test the water absorption and antifreeze of the bricks, and they achieve the MU15 grade. In addition, comparison tests of the superplasticizer, phosphogypsum and red mud in different age have been done.At last, we give an example that establishing 50,000,000 block per year-the non-fired and non-steamed bricks by red mud product line, which involve the early invest to build the industry, the metaphase to maintain the running, and the terminal to benefit from it. The net profit is 4,500,000 Yuan per year, according to the revenue free policy, we can take the whole invest within two of three years. Since the non-fired and non-steamed red mud brick needs less cement than the fly ash brick, the expense is less. It will have wide develop foreground.
