Pipeline Leak Monitoring is a multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary research project involving computer science, modern communication technology, pipeline fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, sensor technology, weak signal detection and signal processing, and other disciplines. In Heavy Ion Research Facility, Lanzhou (HIRFL), for water leakage problem in the process of water cooling, this paper is aiming at designning remote water leakage detection positioning system.State-level lboratory-HIRFL expended an electron cooling storage ring (CSR) on the basis of two original cyclotrons, which makes up of main ring (CSRm) and the experimental ring (CSRe), bringing the Lanzhou heavy ion accelerator a huge system engineering. This project needs a large amount of electricity and water. As lots of high-power electromagnetic components adopt deionized water to be cooled, any component will cause the system to stop operation due to water cooling problem, and to restore it to the original state would take a long time. Whereas, too much water leakage may usualy damage electromagnetic components or electronic equipment. In this context, through the computer technology, control technology and communication technology, study of the new material sensors, this project has finished a real-time remote monitoring system for water leakage suitable for HIRFL, which can greatly improve the operation efficiency of machines, lower operating costs, reduce operating and debugging personnel's working intensity.According to the special requirements of HIRFL, this project has done a lot of preliminary investigation that the traditional pressure, pressure gradient, optical leak detection, flow monitoring and other models can not meet the requirements. We are pleased that a new type of sensor-conductive polymer cable (sensor detection cable) works to satisfy the requirement of monitoring water leakage in the process of accelerator project, and further to design a warning and positioning module. And through the field bus or Ethernet communication process would be realized. This system has the following features:(1) Pass through the site 485 bus which connect to Ethernet communication; 2 Map sensor cable system position to the site scientific equipment. If leakage occurs, alarming device will turn on; 3 Store long-term accidents'record previously happened, including time, location, etc.
