Dynamic compaction has already been applied and spread effectively in the field of civil engineering. In highway construction, it is mainly used to deal with reinforcement to kinds of gravel soil, grit soil, collapsed loess, low-saturation floury soil, backfill and some particular rock, and ending up with favorable technological and economic effectiveness.So far, there are no comparatively mature theoretical analysis and technological methods in application of dynamic compaction. For the specialty of red clay roadbed, supported by a practical project An Experimental Research on On-site Highway Filling Roadbed Dynamic Compaction in Mountainous Areas, this paper concerns dynamic compaction to reinforce and consolidate high-fill roadbed in Yifeng Highway. In order to get the parameter and consolidating effectiveness to optimize construction design of dynamic compaction, we have done lots of on-site experiments by dynamic compaction to strengthen and reinforce the high-fill roadbed. And then we worked out an experimental plan on on-site dynamic compaction to the red clay filling roadbed, sorted out the detecting data, and probed the strengthening pattern of dynamic compaction, we got the conclusion that dynamic compaction patter to red clay filling roadbed was ellipsoid.Making analyzing consolidating mechanism of dynamic compaction as the setting point, combining the features of filling roadbed, the paper detects solving effectiveness of red clay dynamic compaction roadbed to preliminarily build vertical decay law for some norms of consolidating effectiveness, namely, calculating methods of consolidating effectiveness for dynamic compaction and its displacement, serving construction practice, experiences or simplifying theories. And adopting forefather model experiment results and the concept of comparatively consolidating degree by the author, and making room reciprocity and law of energy conservation as the setting-point, it builds calculating method of consolidating degree by dynamic compaction. By energy conservation, the paper theoretically analyzed the relation between times and amounts of ramming, to build corresponding calculating method, and the calculating numbers by the calculating method turn to be close to ones by scene inspection. And the paper discusses compound modulus calculating thinking of strain diffusion effectiveness basing theories of elastics.
