Transformation Of The Old Landscape Design

Landscape plays a very important role in the reconstruction of old cities. Modern city is in the process of development and continuous change, more precisely saying, is in the metabolic process of construction and decline update or expansion of substitution and transformation. We must follow the cultural heritage of particular environment in this process. There are two key points in determining the style of landscape in the reconstruction of an old city. On the one hand, we must meet the citizens' spiritual demand, and on the other hand, we must express the spirit of new times. By analyzing the landscape design of old city reconstruction in Yangzhou South Gate Bund, this paper discusses the importance of landscape design in reconstruction of old cities with the respect to historical inheritance and original culture.
