Because of the superior merits of reductive template-directed synthesis of nanomaterials,such as controlled deposition of nanoparticles,ultrahigh stability, controlled size and shape with reduced side products,reductive template-mediate synthesis of nanomaterials has attracted great attention.It is known that ferrocene is a redox-responsive,hydrophobic molecule and it can be included byβ-cyclodextrin. Herein,we use ferrocenyl polymeric templates as the reductive templates to prepare nanomaterials.First,we have developed micelles and reverse micelles in water and in toluene,respectively.Then,we obtained highly viscous fluid above the critical overlap concentration.We found this polymer will form micelles in water with ferrocene as the core and poly(ethylene imine) as the shell.Vise versa,ferrocene as the shell and poly(ethylene imine) as the core in toluene.To stabilize these reverse micelles,we have cross-linked these micelles using hexamethylene diisocyanate. Increase the concentration of the cross-linker,a decrease in the size and size distribution of reverse micelles was observed.We have also carried out the rheological study on the viscous fluid in detail.We found this fluid could respond to oxidants andβ-cyclodextrin rapidly.Furthermore,when using these templates to prepare silver nanoparticles,we found that silver nanoparticles were located in the center of micelles when using micelles as the reductive templates and remain outside poly(ethylene imine) microspheres when using the cross-linked reverse micelles. Then,the stability of silver nanoparticles in water was also studied.These nanoparticles could remain stable for more than three months without noticeable oxidation.We have also successfully transferred the silver nanoparticles prepared in toluene to the water.These nanoparticles may find wide applications in biomedical areas.
