Insect pheromones are designed as the trace chemical substance which are excreted by insect and influences the behavior or development of others of the same species. So far, the maJor structure of the pheromone of Clania variegate Snell has been identified. Research shows that only C have biological activity. However, the absolute configurations of the two methyls of C have not been identified. So, they contains four stereoisomers in principle. So we plan to firstly to synthesize fragments G and F with (R)-5-methyl-5-hydroxymethylpentanoate. Fragment H was synthesised with pentane-1,5-diol. Then converted fragments G and H into E by Wittig reaction. E was easily converted into C and so as well as F into D. Then connecting C and D can easily form fragment B by Wittig reaction again., Finally we could synthesis target compound A by dehydration.Phytophthora species are devastating plant pathogens that cause substantial yield losses in agricultural crops worldwide. It belongs to the oomycetes. So far, the absolute configuration of four chiral carbon center of its sex pheromones named Hormoneα1. So we plan to firstly to synthesize fragments X with (R)-5-methyl- tetrahydropyran-2-one and Y with 3-methylbut-3-en-1-ol. Then fragment X and Y could be converted into fragment Z by nuclear reaction Which was the major fragment of one molecule of Hormoneα1...
