China is the largest mining country in the world, and pneumatic or hydraulic rock drill is a traditional way of rock drilling. However, due to vibration, high-noise and fuel-air pollution and so on, pneumatic rock drill has been faced with the trend of being eliminated. Although hydraulic rock drill is highly efficient, the questions of the existence of hydraulic rock drill are emissions of waste oil and environment pollution, which makes it urgent to find a greener rock-drilling tool. Hydraulic rock drill based high water uses clean water as the driving force. At the same time it has a series of the characteristics, such as high efficiency, energy conservation, cleaning. So the research of this topic is of great significance. The high-water-based hydraulic rock drill, which include the part of head, the impactor and the leg, is designed in this paper. And the impactor of the high-water-based hydraulic rock drill was the core content of the study. It is a mechanism which transforms the pressure energy produced by high-pressure liquid to the impact energy with high-frequency, which is required to break rock. And it is the core of the high-water-based hydraulic rock drill. The motion law of impact mechanism in high-water-based hydraulic rock drill is very complicated, which is very difficult to be described with a precise mathemaical model. According to different hypothesis conditions, three sorts of mathematical models are put forward to descibe the motion law of the high-water-based hydraulic impact mechanism. A series of formulae, which denote the kinematic parameters with the abstract design variableα, are derived according to the three-staged analysis method of the piston motion. Base on it, the design method about the high-water-based hydraulicimpact mechamism is studied systematically. The dynamical simulation of the hydraulic impact mechamism is performed with software which is programmed with Visual Basic. The influence of the mechanism's partial parameters to its working performance is studied thoroughly, and some regularity about the mechanism motion is found out after analyzing the simulative results.
