This paper focused on the OMMT made by our own laboratory,the OMMT NR/BR/OMMT and NR/SBR/OMMT nanocomposites were prepared by mechanical blending,we mainly studied the impact of the kinds and the contents of the OMMT on the mechanical properties,wear resistance,anti-aging properties and solvent resistance of the composites.The main contents are as follows:The NR/BR/OMMT composites were prepared by mechanical blending,we studied the applications the OMMT on the tire sidewall,we selected the best brand of OMMT and the best dosage through a comprehensive performance test.The exfoliated NR/BR/ OMMT nanocomposites were prepared by the using of XRD and TEM;when the amount is 3.0 phr,the tensile strength and tear strength increased by 75%and 54%seperately,the swelling index reduced by 22%,solvent resistance increased significantly.And the test results of a typical industry sidewall rubber showed that,when the same amount 3.0 phr OMMT contour placed the high wear-resistant carbon black,the performance increased significantly,especially a key indicator for comparison sidewall rubber-the tear strength: increased from 48.6KN/m to 58.8KN/m;At the same time,the equivalent calcium carbonate alternatived ordinary carbon black could reduced costs when the performance of composite materials could be equal.We studied the applications of the OMMT on the tire tread,the same as the NR/BR/OMMT,With the comprehensive performance test we determined the optimum kind and contents of the OMMT,and the TEM test showed we had prepared the exfoliated NR/SBR/OMMT nanocomposites.The studies of the OMMT in the tire tread rubber formulation indicateded that when the composite filler system was OMMT/CB/CaCO3=3/30/15phr,the wear volume reduced from 0.565cm3/1.61Km to 0.483 cm3/1.61Km,at the same time the tensile strength,tear strength and the solvent resistance had the best performance,the outstanding performance of the OMMT in the tire formulation showed that the OMMT has a good prospect in the tire industry.
