In this paper, we synthesize MPAM by the polymerization between AAM and acrylamide, then through hydrolysis, hydroxymethylation and ammonia methylation, we finally get the modified MAMPAM.Acrylamide polymer is the collective name for the homopolymers and copolymers of acrylamide.All the polymers that contain more than 50% acrylamide monomer constitutional unit is called polyacrylamide in industry.And the polymers in which the content of other monomer constitutional unit is less than 5% is usually considered as polyacrylamide homopolymers. Because the water-solubility of polyacrylamide as the macromolecule compound and the lively acyl group at its backbone chain,it has widely applications in petroleum exploitation, water treatment, textile, printing and dyeing, paper making, mineral processing, coal washing, medicine, sugar manufacturing, building materials, agriculture and so on.It is called"all-trade accessory ingredient","almighty production". In China,the petroleum industry consume the most of acrylamide polymer.The scientific and technological progress of acrylamide polymer promote the development of Chinese petroleum industry, also the demand for the petroleum industry accelerate the pace of scientific and technological innovation and the development of the filed of acrylamide polymer .The use of polymer flooding to enhance oil recovery has become one of the important measures of tertiary oil recovery in our contury, the current widely used polymers are partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM), but the carboxyl group of HPAM molecular chain is extremely sensitive to the salt , in high temperature and high salinity environment , it will cause the viscosity of aqueous solution to decline significantly , that is difficult to adapt to the requirements of flooding in high-temperature and high salinity reservoir .At the same time, polyacrylamide are polymers, which owns the linear molecular structure ,that is sensitive to the role of shear, in order to improve its performance, we must begin to change its linear structure and make part of the linear molecules cross-gum become a semi-network structure of polymer, such shear stability, viscosity temperature, salt, etc may improve sensitivity. A methylen polyacrylamide has increased anti-temperature, but the activity weakened, because of the introduction of the methylen. We decide to use a methylen polyacrylamide as the main compounds, improve the salt tolerance by modification and mixtures, which own a broader range of uses, especially in the exploitation of the crude oil of which the viscosity were reduced by emulsion。Only when the proper viscosity reduction agent is added with the stabilizer, we can reduce the viscosity of the oil with high acid value, high-salt and high viscosity to reduce the flow resistance in the crude oil exploitation and transmission process.In our experiment, the acid value of crude oil reaches 10 mg KOH/g or more while the normal is less than 1 mg KOH/g. The higher the acid value of, the more easily reversed phase(RP) in the shear flow after the emulsion viscosity reduction .It means that whatever we use as the viscosity reduction agent, it always RP.Compound MAMPAM with AMPS, the MAMPAM-AMPS used with other viscosity reduction agent can prevent the RP in crude oil with different water content at high shear stress efficacious. The compound can prevent the crude oil RP when the water salinity in the crude oil reaches 150000mg/L.The effection of the compound is not very well when the water salinity in the crude oil reaches 200000mg/L. Modified it by the polymerization between AAM and AMPS, the performance of the new compound is better as we improve its salt tolerance.After many experiments, we found that MAMPAM performances well to prevent the RP at high shear stress.The paper discusses the mechanism of the MAMPAM as thecrude oil viscosity stabilizer.
