Z City Tobacco Company Logistics And Distribution Center Planning

China is the biggest tobacco producing and consuming country in the world, of which, tobacco industry occupies an important position in its national economy. Tobacco enterprises without exception manage to perform the high efficient and uniform management of various links of the tobacco distribution system through the establishment of operating and managerial mode for modern enterprises. In this sense, seeking breakthrough in conventional marketing mode as well as the innovation and exploration concerning the marketing management mode serves as an important means and approach for each enterprise to reduce the cost, explore the market and improve its core competitive power. It is also an important strategy and measure for tobacco manufacturing enterprises to cope with challenges from overseas tobacco magnate after China's entry into WTO.This thesis is composed under the background when China is urgent need of enhancement of logistic dispatching management and construction of information system in consideration of the increasing challenges as confronted by the tobacco merchandising enterprises due to the fact China has promised to cancel permit for retail selling of special tobacco three years after its entry into WTO. This thesis aims to analyze the background of China's tobacco industry in the first place, including social and economic environment both at home and abroad as well as the present situation of overseas and domestic logistics distribution. Furthermore, the thesis is also expected to provide approaches for coping with potential challenges by integrating the existing comprehensive resources of Z city Tobacco Co., Ltd through the establishment of modern logistics distribution center by focusing on the analysis of the potential crisis and challenges that might be confronted by the company. Meanwhile, the thesis also aims to perform the preliminary analysis of the existing logistics distribution system, management mode and basic operating datum of Z city Tobacco Co., Ltd by reviewing its development process, introduce modern conception of logistics distribution management and advanced logistics technologies, probe into the logistics operation of logistics distribution center project, storage and sorting procedures and equipments used by logistics distribution center and planning for logistics information system.At the same time, the thesis is also expected to perform the specific planning for and description of key logistics equipments of logistics distribution center, including receiving, warehousing, sorting and dispatching equipments. Moreover, to ensure the normal operation fo such equipments, this thesis has also designed logistics operating flow and overall structure of logistics information system in quest of the approach for logistics distribution center of Z city Tobacco Co., Ltd to realize the optimal economic efficiency.Finally, this thesis has also estimated the investment in both software and hardware (including equipments and information system) of logistics distribution center following the planning for logistics distribution center project of Z city Tobacco Co., Ltd. As the drafter of the planning proposal, I expect to deepen the understanding and thinking of this topic, so as to seek more appropriate approaches as required by the planning for logistics distribution center. Moreover, I also expect to provide references for the construction of logistics distribution centers of regional tobacco companies.
