Environmental problem is regarded much more important recently, traditional environmental monitoring method can not meet requirement, environmental automation monitoring systems have been increasing developed and take an important role in environmental protection fields. Steel Corporation is a big environmental pollution source and is a monitoring emphasis of government's environmental monitoring agency, establishing environmental automation monitoring systems in Steel Corporation is significant to carry out 'energy-saving and ejection-decreasing' policy. Commonly, Steel Corporation has auto monitoring equipments which were distributed in various cells of manufactory and need to be integrated and form an information monitoring system. Furthermore, Steel Corporation is different from other pollution manufactory, environmental automation monitoring system of Steel Corporation is also to be designed different from other system too.This paper discuss Steel Corporation's environmental automation monitoring system, first, review the development of environmental automation monitoring system, summarize these system status of Steel Corporation, then point out existing problem of these monitoring system. Second, analyze the theory and methods of environmental automation monitoring system, consider system structure, explain steel industry flow chart, focus the environmental monitoring demand of Steel Corporation, design and develop an integrative steel corporation environmental monitoring system. System is built based on B/S internet framework, is opened, flexible, compatible, integrated the air monitoring, water quality, emission source, noise, and video signal, consider and research key technology in system application, give different blue print for different steel flow chart, give uniform communication protocol for different monitoring equipment by a data collect transmit instrument, develop different communication protocol in application layer include GPRS communication protocol and program, insure to build an integrative ,strong and stabilized system.
