A new template(m-Phenylenediamine)was used as coupling agent to synthesize the ladderlike polychloropropylsiloxane(CP-OLPS)via Stepwise Coupling Polymerization(SCP),coupling agent m-phenylenediamine(m-PDA)was supposed to act as a template which enables silane molecules to form a proposed ladderlike supramolecular intermediate through imino H-bonding interaction,which is further condensed to form m-PDA-bridged ladder polyvinylsiloxane.A series of characterization techniques including FT-IR,29Si NMR,XRD,DSC were carried out to confirm the ladder structure,the Cp-OLPS has a extremely sharp and narrow abosorption peaks with small half-peak width(Δ1/2<0.5 ppm)in 29Si NMR spectra which indicating the perfect ladder structure of Cp-OLPS.Functional group C-Cl makes the macromolecule a potential functional polymer.So in this paper,Five novel schiff bases were synthesized via Williamson Reaction and Schiff base Condensation: p-hydroxybenzaldehyde and halide CnH2n+1X(n=2,4,8,14,16)were used as reagents to give the intermediates,p-hydroxybenzaldehyde, which condensed withα-naphthylamine to form the N-(1-naphthyl) -4-alkoxyphenylmethanimine Schiff Bases.The optimal reaction conditions were investigated by orthogonal experiments L9(34)for 3c. The structures of the intermediates and schiff bases were determined by 1H-NMR and FT-IR.The phase behaviors were characterized by DSC.
