125MN extrusion press is one of the largest horizontal extruder in China presently, which is the pivotal equipment for national defense and construction. The former operation system of the machine is obsolete and the reliability can't be guaranteed. The operation system is renovated and modernized. The control method is transferred from the "electricity control water" to the "oil control water", and the entire operation system is updated to digital electro-hydraulic sever-control system. The automatic and intelligent control of the machine is realized to enhance work efficiency and accuracy.According to the principle and plan of renovation, distributed network control system is constructed. The Advantages and disadvantages, application of some current classical Fieldbuses are analysed and compared. The PROFIBUS-DP network which can satisfy high speed and real-time requirements is chosen and the hardware configuration is rationally planned. The mechanism and realization of data communication in operation and control system are illuminated. Diagnosis and malfunction alarm of network data communication are implemented. Against the limitation of conventional data collection in WinCC, key parameters' high speed collection in the production process of extruder is implemented through rawdata archiving. According to the system renovation program and the characteristics of seven Distributors and taking into account the convenience of manufacture and exchangeability, 3 sets servomotors and Corresponding hydraulic driving system are designed on the basis of satisfying the original performance.The control mechanism of Distributors is analysed. Then in accordance with their own characteristics and different control precision demand, different control strategies are chosen and.The satisfying control result is obtained. In the process of PLC programming, the concept and method of structural programming are applied. According to the criterion of modular independence, the modules which are highly cohesive and lowly coupling are programmed and well organized with the hierarchical division of strategy and implementation. By doing those, the software can be reused much more easily and the modification and debug become more convenient. Simulation model of distributors' hydraulic driving system is set up. The influence of introduction of the network delay on the performance of close-loop system is analysed in MATLAB/Simulink simulation environment by using the TrueTime toolbox.The system can satisfy the requirements for function and precision and run well.The design concept and the control method provide reference for the control system of developing other large hydraulic press machine.
