Brominated flame retardants with flame retardant high efficiency, wide scope of application, the advantages of higher thermal stability, has become one of the most effective types of flame retardants.But with the requirements of environmental protection, multi-BDE was that could lead to the formation of dioxins. And DBDPE can be a good alternative of DBDPO, is worthy of our attention new Brominated Flame Retardants. This study analyzes the fire retardant DBDPE the synthetic route, as raw materials include benzyl chloride, iron and bromine.In the paper, two different chemicals werer synthesized, including intermediates 1, 2-dipenylethane and decabromodiphenylethane. As well as the whole reaction mechanisms were discussed. And the products were confirmed by IR, NMR, DSC.Through the orthogonal experiment and data processing, the effect of reaction time and temperature and others was discussed. Each step was identified better experimental conditions of the synthesis.
