This paper includes a detailed review of developing history of CNG stations in China, a brief review of system composing and characteristic of CNG stations, a particular description of failures frequently occurring and method for eliminating corresponding failures in CNG stations. Based on that CNG stations belong to highly hazard ground, the causation and dangerousness of fire hazard is analyzed as well as statistic classification of failures in CNG stations is presented. With the aim to evaluate security of CNG stations, we summarize the main security evaluating methods and peculiarities of petrochemical enterprise in China. By employing fuzzy comprehensive evaluation and improved AHP method, a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model is established for evaluating security degree of CNG stations. For finding out the causations of most dangerous hazard—explosion hazard in CNG stations, this paper presents a qualitative analyses method based on hazard failure tree with explosion as root. The important degree of basic event is founded and decreasing hazard failure steps is emphasized for improving running reliability of CNG stations. This paper presents a primary discussing of hazard failure evaluation. It is benefited to security and running management of CNG stations.
