Sizing process is a very important procedure of weving preparation , so it is paid much attention always. Pastes is the key material to insure the weaing production on the rails, the performance of pastes can impact greatly on the production quality and production efficiency. PVA is among the three main kinds of pastes, a mass of PVA is employed because it has many strongpoints. High proportion of PVA is added especially in the sizing of fine cotton yarn. But since PVA is difficult to decompose it cause severe environmental pollution, so the purchasers of Europe countries refuse the production which contain PVA. So it is clearly that "little PVA and no PVA " is the development trend and it is a task in dire need of being solved. The purpose of this thesis is to research a nanometer pastes which can reduce the dosage of PVA. Taking aim at the shortage of PVA and combining the characteristic of nanometer materials, we add nanometer materials to the traditional starch and acrylic acid pastes to improve the sizing quality and replace quality partially or completely. Design several kinds of pastes based the different proportion of nanometer materials, make the 60~s cotton yarn go though sizing, and then determine the performance indexes ,which are strength, elongation, hairiness and resistance to attrition. After we get the best collocate we make the 80~s cotton yarn go though sizing in order to checkout the best collocate. Then fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is adopted in this thesis. Through mathematical analysis we get the conclusion that : the sizing quality of nanometer pastes is much better then the traditional pastes in which high proportion of PVA is added. When the proportion of nanometer is 2.5% the sizing quality get best. Through the test of conglutination performance, we get the conclusion that : the conglutination performance of nanometer pastes is better. We analyse the process mechanism between nanometer materials and starch.
