The comfort of textile fabric has long been an important research for textile workers. Yet it is even more hotter to search ways to enhance the thermohumid comfort of fabrics. This research adopted two ways to alleviate sultry feeling of the fabrics when they were worn in thermohumid conditions. The yarn had been designed as "cortex & core" construction in this study, the cortex was hydrophobic and the core was hydrophilic. This kind of yarn could divert the sweat from the surface of the body to the core of yarn, thereby improve the humidity between body and the clothing microenvironment. As a result, the thermohumid comfort was enhanced. Two kinds of viscose fiber with different fineness were chosen as subject investigated in this research. The cruder fiber was finished with water-repellent agent, and then blended with the finer fiber at various ratio. On the basis of the translative rule of the fibers during spinning, we achieved the "cortex & core" constructive yarn. The content of the water-repellent crude fiber was designed as 10%, 30% and 50%. And the yarn that had the same content of unfinished crude fiber as controlled yarn was achieved. Then all kinds of yarn were woven into fabrics. Research tests showed that the fabric had good hygroscopicity and aridity when the content of water-repellent fibers was 30%.In the research, the cotton fabrics were designed as "bilateral structure" in which the inside was provided with hydrophobicity to some extent, and the outside still held good hydrophilicity. These provided the fabric "bilateral structure". The isolated function of the water-repellent part was utilized to make the sweat apart from the skin and reduce the humidity of the microenvironment, and the aim of enhancing the thermohumid comfort of the fabric was achieved accordingly. Pure cotton fabric were made subject investigated in this research. Inner side of the fabric was partly finished with water-repellent agent to alleviate the adhesive feeling when it was worn in thermohumid conditions. According to the differences of the cotton fabrics in degree of tightness, the way of partly printing water-repellent agent inside the fabric was adopted to realize the difference in hydrophilicity between the two sides. Inside the fabric, the printing rate was set to 20%,40% and 60%. Tests (objective assess) and practical wearing experiments (subjective assess) had showed that the cotton fabric had good wearing comfort when the water-repellent rate was 40%. This kind of fabric can swiftly absorb the sweat created from the body and make it apart from the body surface, and meanwhile the sweat outside can soon emit into atmospheric environment. In this paper, the way mentioned above was also introduced in silk fabrics. The fabric was tested and the way was primarily confirmed effective. A conclusion may be drawn from this that this way can be introduced to other kinds of cellulose fabrics and their blended products. This way also has good maneuverability and can be introduced easily in industrialization.
