Main compositions of two series of compound oxidizer recipes are confirmed in the first instance through the theoretic analysis and the experimental study of conventional differential thermal analysis (DTA), according to the basic require of firecracker medicament to oxidizer. The two recipes of A series of compound oxidizer and B series of compound oxidizer of which the pyrotechnical effects are perfect are obtained by changing the mutual proportion in mass between each composition by orthogonal experiment. The recipes of A, B series of compound oxidizers are finally made certain through the study of mechanical sensitivity. The series compound oxidizer of A contains catalyst A 3~8%, potassium perchlorate 55~60%, nitrate 37~42%, and the series compound oxidizer of B contains catalyst B 3~8%, potassium perchlorate 63~68%, nitrate 29~34%.The influences of each composition to the performance of the two series of compound oxidizers are studied respectively, and catalyst A, catalyst B, nitrate and multinitro-compound which are used in the compound oxidizer are all proved to be able to improve the pyrotechnical effect of the compound oxidizer. Meantime, the influences of the two series of compound oxidizers and the reducing agents to the performance of firecracker medicament are also studied in this paper. In the other hand, the addition of multinitro-compound as a composition of the compound oxidizer is proved to be able to make the firecracker medicament very sensitive through the study of mechanical sensitivity, and the result is that multinitro-compound should not be added into the compound oxidizer, although it can improve the pyrotechnical effect.A good new metal oxide catalyst B is first time found and proved that the oxide has a good catalysis to the thermal decomposition process of potassium perchlorate through the theoretic analysis and the validation by the experiment of differential thermal analysis (DTA); and that definition, testing method, calculation method of the characteristic parameters of the pyrotechnical effect in the firecracker are firstly proposed creatively; and that the recipes of A, B series of compound oxidizer are obtained.
