NC simulation indicates a mapping of NC machining process in the virtual environment. The NC simulation system is an important part of virtual manufacturing and can be applied into verify the NC program and train the operator of NC machine tools.Firstly, this paper analyzes the general structure and developing tools of simulation system. Secondly, we emphasize on studying the key theories and technologies for completing the system. In this paper, 3-Dimension modeling theory is studied and analyzed, and from these points, the machining environment and workpiece modeling of simulation system are introduced; Meanwhile, according to the differential equation theory, we deduced the formula of swept surface and realized the arithmetic of 3D dynamic machining process simulation; In addition, the NC program explanation module- the transition technology from NC standard program to tool moving position data-has been discussed. Finally, this paper discusses how to apply the network technology into the simulation system teaching, puts forward a idea of C/S network structure and analyzes network communication technology.The running results of simulation system have showed that it has good real-time effectivity, interaction and visualization of 3D graphics, the abilities of effectively verify the NC program and training operator of NC machine tools.
