Metal Surface Semiconductor Tio <sub> 2 </ Sub> Coated Photocathode Protect The Experimental Study

The advancement and development of iron and steel industry and machine producing industry, is also sign of nation's social production, sign of economic power. Nowadays, the all thing we use are connect with steel. But for the one thing iron and steel industry and correlative industry are under a quick developing (in 1998country , the ascendant of metallic material ,such as iron steel,copper,Al, are more than 10 percent.) For the other thing, it is corroded by various environment and actuating medium. So the corroded problem of metallic material, is always accompany appearance of iron and the tools made of iron.The photo electrochemical behavior of carbon steel with TiO₂ coating was studied and the effect of different light, heat treatment and coating thickness on photopotential was discussed in this article. From the polarization curves we can see that the photo-effect of TiO₂ coating is very obvious on carbon steel. So the cathodic protection for carbon steel under sunshine could be possible by TiO₂ coating. We also made TiO₂ sol-gel by ourselves, and it can protect pure Al by photo-effect. With X-ray diffusing we find out the surface of the TiO₂ is standing and they are crystal.
