Synthetic-based Drilling Fluid Study

The synthetic drilling fluids is a kind of new type drilling fluids which has the performances of oil based mud and also has the environment protection characteristic. This thesis is based on the second generation of synthetic drilling fluids, studys the basic character, basic formulation.. composing and performances of it, gropes for the function principle and function characteristics of synthetic drilling fluids, so as to completely analyze the synthetic drilling fluids from its makeup and function principle, the regulation of the performances changes, and establishs the new type drilling fluids system which can satisfy the drilling and environment protection requests.This article adopts the uniform design method as the experiment method which is a kind of new experiment method in order to optimizate or develop the basic agents for synthetic drilling fluids, solves the problem that the agents satisfying the function request of synthetic drilling fluids do not match, and optimizates a set of the synthetic drilling fluids system formulations to make the synthetic drilling fluids have excellent rheological properties, filtration properties and good environment protection functions.This article researchs the low density ( P =1.20g/cm3 ), middle density ( P =1.60g/cm3 ) and high density ( P =2.00g/cm3 ) synthetic drilling fluids. This thesis solves the problem that the suspension stability of the high density synthetic drilling fluids is very difficult to keep, and at the same time gropes for a set of the field confecting project to fit synthetic drilling fluids.Aiming at the viscosity, filtration loss, electricity stability and density etc problems which may appear in the field, the article has found the complete methods to control them.Finally, the article analyzes the synthetic drilling fluids cost(comparing with oil based mud), and outlooks the good application foreground of the synthetic drilling fluids in our country.
