The Sargassum Fucoidan Purification And Characterization Of Study

Brown seaweed Sargassam fusiforma produce families of sulfated fucoidans among other polysaccharides. They frequently contain other sugars besides L-fucose, namely, D-xylose, D-galactose and D-glucuronic acid; however, additional sugars, like D-mannose and D-glucose as well as D-arabinose have also appeared.In particular circumstances, either fucose or galactose constitutes more than 95% of the component monosccharides. Several biological activities for these polysaccharides have been examined, but as the structure of fucoidans has not been elucidated, the relationship between structure and biological properties is far from being established. A study of fucoidans from the brown seaweed Sargassam fusi forma is reported herein.In this article, the methods of extraction and purification polysaccharide from Sargassam fusi forma were studied. The conditions of extracting fucoidans were also investigated, result shows that the optimum extraction temperature is 85, optimum time is 7. Ohr, optimum w/v is 1:30. The crude fucoidans were fractionated by DEAE-Cellurose 52 and purificated by Sephadex-GlOO. The columns were eluted with linear gradient of sodium chloride (0-0. 5M) and the major fraction F-A. F-E. F-C were obtained. After purification, seven types of fucoidan were obtained which were F-A1. F-A2. F-B1. F-B2. F-C1. F-C2. F-C3 .Analyzing the all fraction of fucoidan by GPC. HPLC. GC. IR and NMR, the messages of molecular weight and structure as well as other properties were obtained. At the end of this article, the biological activities of the fucoidan fractions were studied, and the F-C2 were founded to have the best result.
