Most of ores in underground metal mines in China were mined by the sill pillar-free subdrifting method. The method has simple process and controls ore removal by cut-off grade ore drawing. It has shortcomings of mixture of large amount of barren stones, many chances of mixture of barren stones and high ore dilution ratio. The dilution ratio may result in decreasing quality of first-grade products of mine enterprises and increasing handling costs of second-grade products. Therefore, the study and application of the mining method are topics drawing attention of technicians both at home and abroad. With gradual application of science and technology in the mining industry, the mines are looking for different methods to solve the problem. Based on Meishan Iron Mine, the dilution ratio drawing process was studied and real-time optimization prediction was carried out by neural network, so as to determine reasonable dilution ratio index and other technical economic indexes, and to guide and strengthen ore drawing management. The dilution ratio ore drawing is that under the circumstance of uncharged overall recovery of the mine, the dilution ratio is decreased gradually and ore removal grade is increased, so as to decrease mixture of barren stones and to bring benefit for the mine.The neural network is a research method based on examples and has better approximating effect for the non-linear system. It can summarize relation between variates and the technical economic index of quickreal-time prediction optimization, and has important meaning to guide production and strengthen management. Therefore, the neural network method provides a new study method for prediction of technical economic index of the dilution ratio ore drawing. It may sufficiently develop experience data and information, carry out emulation and optimizationcombination, and provide optimum changing field for the technical economic index of the dilution ratio ore drawing.The principle of the dilution ratio ore drawing and difference between the dilution ratio ore drawing and the cut-off ore drawing are mainly expounded and the theory of the neural network is briefly presented. Through analysis of the dilution ratio ore drawing, the model of the dilution ratio ore drawing was established in Meishan. In the light of the neural network model, better dilution ratio was predicted and actual quantitative index of the dilution ratio ore drawing was determined in Meishan Iron Mine. Population and application of the dilution ratio ore drawing method has certain social value and economic value for implementation of the sill pillar-free subdrifting method.
