TO strengthen the construction of towns not only can develop the rural economic and enhance the communication between cities and villages to make their economic structures merge into an organic whole, but also can speed up the urbanization of the countryside with the social, economic, cultural and agricultural development. What is more, to develop towns is an important way to enhance the social and economic development of our country and realize the urbanization with Chinese characteristics. Therefore, it is meaningful to find out the problems of environmental protections through the investigations of the environment of the towns of Guangdong and put forward the solutions so that we can solve the contradictions between economic development and environmental protection to realize the development of both of them at the same time in order to ensure the construction of towns is on the way to maintain sustainable development of economy and environment.According to the environmental protection experiences of China and other countries, a lot of environmental problems have been found during the development of towns. For example, the urbanization is fast with the rapid economic and social development of the towns. However, as the environmental protection is far behind the rapid economic development, many disadvantages have been brought to the environmental in the towns. Wuhua,Meixian,Fengshun,Haifeng and some typical towns in Baoan and Longgang of Shenzhen, the following problems of environmental protection of the towns in Guangdong have been found:!. The environmental protection plan is not perfect, especially industrial allocation. 2.Basic construction is far behind the economic development.3. Industrial structure is unreasonable.4. Daily-life waste pollution is serious.5. The industrial and agricultural pollutions have not been brought under control.6.The ecological environment of some towns has deteriorated while the waste and the destruction of natural sources are serious.7. Theinpollution along the boarder between the towns is becoming worse and worse. S.environmental protection institution and staff can't meet the need of development.9.The input into the environmental protection of some towns is not guaranteed. What is more, as rural economy has turned to the second, third industries and the rural people have moved to towns, which has made the environmental burden of the towns much heavier, part of the environment has become worse. As for the problems above, this thesis has analyzed in details and found out the main reasons are: some leaders and local people of towns have not realized the importance of protecting environment; the growth of population is too fast, which has brought pressure to environment; the policy of environmental protection is not perfect; district safe-guard and poor administration system have bad influence on environmental protection.To protect the environment is a key way to maintain sustainable development of the towns. The development of towns in Guangdong can't repeat the "first polluting, then cleaning" experience of developed countries.
