This thesis is mainly a detailed introduction of progress of the process for preparing N-phosphonomethylglycin by two steps: preparing N-phosphonomethyliminodiacetic acid by using phosphorus trichloride as raw material and preparing N-phosphonomethylglycine by oxidation of N-phosphonomethyliminodiacetic acid with hydrogen peroxide. In the first step ,phosphorus acid is generally used in the process of IDA, and in industry phosphorus acid is produced by hydrolysis of phosphorus trichloride. Using phosphorus trichloride as raw material not only reduces the cost of production and consuming energy, but also simplize the operation. The results of a series of contrasting tests show that the yield of N-phosphonomethyliminodiacetic acid is deeply affected by ratio of reactants , the density of IDA, the reaction time and so on. In the final progressive process, the conversion to N-phosphonomethyliminodiacetic acid can reach more than 90%.In the second step , oxidation of N-phosphonomethyliminodiacetic acid with hydrogen peroxide is an important method of preparing N-phosphonomethylglycine ,but there are many factors that perhaps affect the reaction results and the cross-effect of them is complicated .Single factor design and orthogonal design respectively study the effect of important single factors and the cross-effect of them on the yield and purity of N-phosphonomethylglycine. At the preferred reaction conditions , the content of solid N-phosphonomethylglycine can reach 99% or so.
